SAN ANTONIO– Each year, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognizes local businesses that accelerate SWMBEs, or Small Woman Minority Business Enterprises, with the Max Navarro Public Sector Procurement Excellence Award. We’re proud to announce that Brooks City Base is the recipient of this award for the second year in a row.
“These award winners believe buying from local small businesses responds directly to their consumer base, in turn investing in the San Antonio community,” said Ramiro Cavazos, President and CEO of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber.
The award was given during the 2016 Max Navarro Leaders in Procurement Excellence Luncheon held at the 2016 Business Connect, an annual event presented by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of San Antonio, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, Asociación de Empresarios Mexicanos, and My Business Matches.
“Our mission at Brooks is to serve as a driver for economic growth, not just on our campus but across San Antonio,” said Brooks City Base President & CEO Leo Gomez. “When we buy locally from local small businesses who share our dreams and dedication for San Antonio, we all win. We owe a debt to all the partners of the Business Connect event for creating an opportunity for small and large businesses and public sector organizations to work together. It’s a tremendous event and we’re honored to be a part of it.”
