The Greenline Experience meets the inaugural Chanclas y Cervezas Fiesta partner event

(SAN ANTONIO) – Brooks will celebrate the first anniversary of its award-winning linear park and introduce San Antonio’s most anticipated new Fiesta partner event on Saturday, April 20. With The Greenline serving as the hub of activity, The Greenline Experience will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. followed by Chanclas y Cervezas from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Greenline Experience is one of Brooks’ largest annual events featuring outdoor activities, live entertainment, delicious food trucks and vendor booths sponsored by a variety of local organizations. This year, The Greenline Experience will also feature the return of the popular Snow Fall event, with more than 180,000 pounds of snow falling on the great lawn. Families in attendance will enjoy fun winter activities including sledding, building snowmen and much more.

Comprised exclusively of local acts, The Greenline Experience music lineup includes a variety of talent including country singer Cheyenne Saenz, rock/blues/funk guitarist Jaime Varela, indie rock band St. Dukes and jazz vocalist Richard Diaz de Leon.

Chanclas y Cervezas will embrace the legend of the infamous chancla with live entertainment, games and activities and a variety of different food and drink options. Chanclas y Cervezas will honor “la chancla” for its versatility and its ability to strike fear in the hearts of its targets. Attendees will work through their difficult memories and experiences with “la chancla” by participating in chancla-themed games and vying to become San Antonio’s first chancla throwing champion.

Cold cervezas, delicious food and a thrilling lineup of the best Latin music acts in South Texas will help heal the sting of “la chancla’s” discipline. Live entertainment includes cumbia funk band Bombasta, DJ Steven Lee Moya, all-female mariachi ensemble Mariachi Las Coronelas, NATIAO Latin Jazz and indie latin band Volcán. The food truck court will be filled with favorites from around South Texas, including Smoking AMJ BBQ, Hippy Chippy Sweets, Transylvania Treats, Benjie’s Munch Truck, Krazy Kettle Korn, Home Team Hot Dogs, Kona Ice, Las Quesadillas the Original Taste of Mexico and Bahama Bucks.

Chanclas y Cervezas will feature a variety of vendors with all the Fiesta essentials, including opportunities to purchase San Antonio’s most sought after Fiesta medals from SA Flavor.

Proceeds from The Greenline Experience and Chanclas y Cervezas will benefit Brooks Gives Back. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Brooks Gives Back serves as the vehicle by which all members of the Brooks community can contribute financially to the meaningful growth and improvement of the Brooks campus and its surrounding neighborhoods.
