(SAN ANTONIO) – Brooks welcomes five new board of directors: Jim Campbell, former Senior Director of Public Affairs for HOLT CAT; Gabe Farias, Director of Business Development for Kellum Family Medicine; Alex Melo, small business owner and executive assistant at Spurs Sports & Entertainment; Lorraine Pulido, communications manager for VIA Metropolitan Transit and Anita Uribe Martin, Director of Community Relations for University Health System.

“I’m delighted to welcome these five new directors to our team,” said Steven Goldberg, chairman of the Brooks Board of Directors. “Each brings an impressive mix of expertise and experience that will help Brooks to continue the pattern of growth and success that we’ve seen over the past 15 years.”

Appointed by the San Antonio City Council, the Brooks Board of Directors governs the Brooks Development Authority, which owns and manages the 1,308-acre mixed-use campus. The Brooks Board of Directors consists of 11 members, each representing a member of council and the Mayor.

Jim Campbell recently retired as Senior Director of Public Affairs for HOLT CAT where he managed the company’s governmental relations, media relations and community affairs while serving as a liaison to various chambers of commerce and trade associations across Texas. Previously, Mr. Campbell served as the Director of External Relations for the City of San Antonio, the Senior Director of Governmental Relations and Communications for CPS Energy and Senior Vice President of The DeBerry Group.

 

Gabe Farias is Director of Business Development, Community & Public Affairs for Kellum Family Medicine. In his current role, Mr. Farias is responsible for managing community and public affairs and leading new business initiatives. He previously served as President & CEO of the West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce from June 2012 to November 2017, and as the Chief of Staff for former District 3 Councilwoman Jennifer Ramos.

 

Anita Uribe Martin is Director of Community Relations for University Health System. She has 20 years of experience in the public affairs industry, previously serving as a specialist for governmental relations and external affairs at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas and the Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of San Antonio.

 

Alex Melo is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Sales for Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E). A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Melo spent 15 years working in the sales and engineering industry before joining SS&E in 2009. He is also a small business owner and active in the community, serving as Emisario for the West San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

 

Lorraine Pulido is the Communications Manager for VIA Metropolitan Transit. Dr. Pulido has more than 22 years’ experience in the marketing and communications industry, previously serving as public relations manager for the City of San Antonio and the Health Department. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the communications department at Texas A&M San Antonio.
