It’s time! We are asking for your help to make the one-mile extension of South New Braunfels from Brooks City Base to Loop 410 a reality, a critical project in the successful development of Brooks and the Southside of San Antonio.

The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is in the process of selecting projects to receive federal transportation funds over the next four years through its Transportation Improvement Program. Although 41 projects were submitted for consideration, totaling nearly $415 million, the MPO expects to award only $100 million in a highly competitive process.
Among the projects for consideration is a one-mile extension of South New Braunfels from Brooks City Base to Loop 410, proposed by Brooks City Base and the City of San Antonio. This $27 million project is one of only two projects on the Southside that are under consideration to receive funding.
Extending South New Braunfels will create a four-lane thoroughfare that connects S.E. Military with Loop 410.
Unfortunately, our project did not score high enough in the technical scoring to get it into a recommended funding position; therefore, we need to take ACTION to make a difference in the following public hearings.
If you agree that the extension of South New Braunfels to Loop 410 is important, we need your help to make this plan a reality! Which one will you attend and express your support?

The one-mile extension of South New Braunfels from Brooks City Base to Loop 410 is one of only two projects on the Southside that are under consideration to receive funding. I’m a strong supporter of this project because it will bring more jobs to San Antonio and the Southside in particular by supporting the community’s economic redevelopment efforts at Brooks City Base.
