Board of Directors

Board member Alejandra “Alex” Lopez is an Assistant City Manager for the City of San Antonio. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, she oversees the Economic Development Department, Convention and Sports Facilities, and Pre-K for SA. She also coordinated closely with workforce development functions, including SA: Ready to Work. Alex has over 15 years of service to the City of San Antonio previously serving as Director of Economic Development and Interim Chief Equity Officer. Alex also served as Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of Austin, where she managed industry development strategies, business corridor stabilization initiatives and award-winning public-private partnerships.

Alex serves on the board of directors of the Local Government Hispanic Network and chairs the Central Texas Chapter of this organization. She also serves on the board of directors of Project Quest and was appointed to the Brooks Development Authority Board of Directors in April 2021.

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Public Administration, St. Mary’s University.
