Ashlee Peña is the Senior Counsel, Director of Government Affairs for Thrivent Financial.
Prior to joining Thrivent in 2018, she worked in politics where she served as Chief of Staff in the Texas State House of Representatives, worked as a Policy Fellow at the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, and worked as a Legislative Aide on public and higher education in the Texas Senate.

Ashlee is a native of San Antonio, Texas. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Trinity University, a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law, and a Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Planning from The University of Texas at Austin.

Ashlee Peña was appointed to the Brooks Development Authority Board of Directors in September 2023.
