Brooks strives to cultivate a healthy and skilled workforce by providing superior education opportunities, from kindergarten to graduate school.
University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine
The University of the Incarnate Word opens its new School of Osteopathic Medicine at Brooks, in July 2017. The school, located in a local historic district which previously housed the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, will train primary care doctors to serve San Antonio and South Texas. UIW is the fourth-largest private university in Texas, with more than 9,500 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.
Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering
The Brooks community is also home to one of San Antonio’s most esteemed—and tuition-free—public charter schools, the Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering (B.A.S.E.). Here, students from kindergarten through twelfth grade can flourish in a safe learning environment while skilled faculty teach them the importance of creativity, diversity and self-motivation to their personal educational growth.
Compass Rose Academy
Compass Rose is a brand new public charter school in San Antonio, TX and opened at Brooks in August 2017. A friendly and student-centered environment, Compass Rose encourages students to become creative thinkers and community leaders, and helps them discover that learning is exciting, rewarding, and worthwhile. Like a compass for a traveler, Compass Rose Academy will point students towards college and successful careers through rigorous high-tech, college preparatory education.
CAST Med (opening Fall 2019)
The third campus in the CAST Network, CAST Med will welcome its first cohort of 150 9th graders in August 2019 and will eventually include 9th-12th graders. The high school will add to the pipeline of much-needed doctors and researchers in the San Antonio area. Students enrolled in CAST Med will follow one of three pathways: Biomedical Research, Medical Professionals, and Public Health Professionals.
