Brooks announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors: Rudy D. Garza, Chief Consumer Engagement Officer for CPS Energy and Pat Jasso, who most recently served as Vice Chairwoman for the San Antonio Water System’s Board of Directors.

Rudy Garza, District 9

“Our board of directors is a dedicated team of community leaders that embraces our mission – to build a thriving mixed-use community that supports the employment, housing, and transportation needs of our region,” said Brooks Board Chair Jim Campbell. “The experience that Rudy and Pat bring to this board will be invaluable in guiding Brooks toward continued growth and success.”

Rudy D. Garza is the Chief Customer Engagement Officer for CPS Energy, where he is responsible for customer success, community engagement, corporate responsibility, managed accounts, corporate communications, marketing and smart city initiatives. Mr. Garza joined CPS Energy in 2012 as Vice President of External Relations and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Distribution Services & Operations in 2016. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University of North Texas. Garza was appointed by Councilman John Courage to represent District 9 on the Brooks
Development Authority Board of Directors.

Pat Jasso
Pat Jasso, District 3

Pat Jasso retired from AT&T after 35 years of service, served 15 years as an Air Force Reservist, and the current coordinator for Can We Talk – a coalition of more than 65 organizations that plans events in recognition of Women’s History Month and Women’s Equality Day. She concluded her tenure as Vice Chairwoman of the San Antonio Water System’s board in May 2020, and currently serves as Chairwoman of the Texas Business & Professional Women’s Foundation. Ms. Jasso also serves on the board of St. Luke’s Lutheran Health Ministries, Select Federal Credit Union, Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, Annie’s List PAC, SAISD Blue Ribbon Task Force and is a member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition’s International Committee. She is an instructor for Senior Planet, and was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame in 2005 for her various volunteerism. Jasso was appointed by Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran to represent District 3 on the Brooks Development Authority Board of Directors.

Appointed by the San Antonio City Council, the Brooks Development Authority Board of Directors governs the Brooks Development Authority, which owns and manages the 1,308-acre mixed-use campus. The board consists of 11 members, each representing the Mayor and one of San Antonio’s City Council ten districts. Campbell (District 1) was named Board Chair in May 2020 with Lorraine Pulido (District 4) serving as Vice Chair and Anita Uribe Martin (District 7) serving as Treasurer. Board members are divided into two committees: the finance committee, and the planning & development committee. Uribe Martin chairs the finance committee, with Alex Melo (District 6) serving as the committee vice chair. Gabe Farias (District 5) chairs the planning & development committee with Joe Nix (District 10) serving as the committee vice chair.
