Construction is slated to begin in June with a 12 month turnaround time.

Cambridge Development Group LLC, a Virginia developer known for bringing large industrial projects like the massive local sous vide plant, is planning an $18.6 million office building at Brooks.

According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction of a “four-story tilt wall core and shell office building” is slated to begin in late June, with an anticipated 12 month turnaround time.

Cambridge said the development would include two 100,000-square-foot office buildings at 7515 Inner Circle Drive, but declined to lay out further details.

According to county records, the land is zoned for “commercial storage site,” and does not include a valuation from the county appraisal district.

The Brooks campus is the site of the former Brooks Air Force Base on the city’s South Side. It was redeveloped and is now a tax increment reinvestment zone, which allows for mixed-use land that is eligible to benefit from municipal subsidies in order to encourage investment and development in the area.

Cambridge Development Group operates in multiple states including Texas, Washington, D.C. and Florida. It provides a broad range of commercial development services, including retail, office and industrial.
